Editor's Notes
Dell Inspiron 15 5558 is an entertainment-oriented laptop that comes in various configurations. Starting with the £329 entry-level Intel Core i3 model that comes with 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 1366x768px glossy display. This model represents a good value for someone that is looking to step up from the budget laptops such as Dell's own Inspiron 15 3551.
The £699 top-end model packs an Intel Core i7, 2TB hard drive, 16GB RAM, switchable graphics courtesy of nVidia GeForce 920 and a full HD 1920x108px matte anti-glare screen. While the £449 mid-level model features an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 and 1366x768px glossy screen.
Then there is also a model that in my opinion hits the sweet spot in terms of performance/price ratio. Retailing at £549 it packs an Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB storage and the same switchable graphics card and full HD screen as the most expensive model. I feel that you either go for the entry level one if you just need a basic entertainment notebook or this one if you are after something that packs a bit more punch.
